Depuis déjà quelques saisons, les bombers sont de nouveau à la mode. Bien différents de ceux que j’ai connus pendant mes années lycée ;) ils sont aujourd’hui habillés par des matières satinées, des broderies ou des imprimés floraux.

Plusieurs créateurs de patrons ont également suivi la tendances, et c’est le Rigel de Papercut Patterns qui a retenu mon attention. Depuis déjà un moment je voulais tester un patron Papercut et j’en ai donc enfin profité pour en commander quelques uns.

Le packaging est très agréable et le patron vite décalqué car j’ai choisi la version sans empiècements. Comme à mon habitude, j’ai allongé le corps et les manches de 3 cm en me basant sur l’un de mes sweats. J’ai triplé mon tissu fleuri par un voile de coton car j’avais peur qu’il soit un peu trop fin : j’ai coupé en double les pièces devants, dos et manches (une fois dans le tissu fleuri, une fois dans le coton) et pour chaque pièce j’ai surpiqué ensemble les 2 tissus afin de n’en faire qu’une seule.

Je trouve juste dommage que la doublure ne soit pas prévue dans le patron, ce qui en aurait facilité le montage car j’ai dû improviser un peu au niveau des angles.

For a few months we’ve been seeing bomber jackets back in many shops, made from satin fabric, with embroidery or floral prints for a dressy and trendy look.

A few pattern makers also followed the trend, especially Papercut Patterns with the beautiful Rigel Bomber. I had been wanting to try one of their patterns for quite a while, so that was the occasion.

The pattern came in a beautiful envelope and was quick to trace as I choose the variation 1 without the shoulder panels. As usual, I lengthened the body and sleeves by 3 cm, to reach the same length as one of my sweaters.

I interlined my flower fabric with a cotton fabric because I was afraid it might be too thin. I cut every back, body and sleeve piece twice (once in the floral fabric, once in cotton) and for each part I machine-basted the two fabrics together.

I only found too bad the lining instructions was not provided in the pattern, which would have made the assembly easier. I had to improvise a bit at the bottom corners but it turned out better than I expected.
